“The stolen embrace” (L’abbraccio rubato) by Simone Gazzola and “Cecilia’s Diary” (Diario de Cecilia) by Valérie Loewensberg are in competition at Hurghada International Youth Fim Festival, Egypt.

Hurghada International Youth Film Festival

Hurghada Youth Film Festival is an annual festival organized by Funoon for Culture and Media Foundation in Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate, Egypt.
Under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, supported by Egyptian and international public and private institutions, it aims at promoting Egyptian cinema, cinematic culture, and support the work of young filmmakers or tackles issues related to youth situation in Egypt and the world, as well as introducing cinematic works from various geographical regions.

The short films

“The stolen embrace” (L’abbraccio rubato) by Simone Gazzola tells about Febe, a new-mom artist, is stuck at home, disconnected from reality. Not even the phone call of her husband and the crying coming from the cradle seem to wake her up.

“Cecilia’s Diary” (Diario de Cecilia) by Valérie Loewensberg tells the story of Cecilia, a girl isolated in a psychiatric hospital. She dreams of a place where the snow burns her skin and where she can find her lost love, Philippe. When the psychiatrist, with her mother’s approval, decides to extend her confinement, Cecilia hatches an escape plan.
