Director's statement
This project would not have been possible without the support of the International Festival of Andros, Fast Ferries, and the Moraitis Legacy, who believed in the vision of this film from the very beginning. I am especially honoured to have legendary Greek filmmaker Pantelis Voulgaris as an associate producer. His iconic work, (including Little England which was also filmed on Andros and was Greece’s official submission to the Academy Awards in 2014) has been a constant source of inspiration. His mentorship and connection to this project were invaluable.
Visually and tonally, God Forgive Me draws inspiration from filmmakers like Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House), Ari Aster (Hereditary), and Jennifer Kent (The Babadook). Their ability to intertwine emotional depth with atmospheric horror guided the creation of this film.
